It makes it way easier to meet people who have a chance of actually being into you.
Which is partly why LGBTQ+ people like to have their own clubs. Sure, the odds are still shit but they're literally almost an order of magnitude better than for queer people. If we use the same numbers and proportions for a straight person (90% of the population, half of those looking for someone, half of those of your preferred gender), your pool is 22.5% of everyone in the club. And that's if we take the highest estimate of how many LGBTQ+ people there are. And don't forget you still need to be mutually attracted to each other.
So in a club where all genders and sexualities are represented, your pool is 2.5% of everyone in there. Maybe half? So 5% of the total population.Īnd if you're only into one gender, you can cut that number by half. Let's be generous and say 10% because it makes the sums easy. They estimate that somewhere between 1% and 10% of all people are some flavour of queer. Sure, but the numbers game is totally different. Still think people of any sexuality should be allowed go to the club as long as they have no bad intent :)
You?” I was like “I’m not looking for a man rn sorry” and he wouldn’t let me go for an uncomfortable length of time. i was like “go dance w my friend he’s into you”. Then started dancing a bit more aggressively, pulling my hips into his crotch etc. When I was in The George, this guy was making eyes with my gay friend, so we moved over and he started dancing with me. I just wouldn’t be telling them where to go as long as they’re respectful.Įdit: Just adding one experience that came to mind, in a more “dear straight men” POV. I find myself always having to ask a girl I’m getting with if they’re lgbt before I get with them because Ive been used as an experiment too many times.
It kinda sucks that the few places we have in dublin to fully express ourselves are 1/4 full of straight people. I 100% get where you’re coming from though. I think a lot of straight women go just to feel safer.
